The tap wall never sits still

Around twelve lines, rotating constantly: pale ales and pilsners when the sun’s on the courtyard, stouts and strong stuff when the vaults do their thing. Sours, seasonals, the odd cask-inspired experiment — Styrian breweries and friends from further afield, with pours from One Eyed Jock Brewing right here in Graz.

Every keg gets an English tap note — style, strength, what to expect. When a line kicks, it’s gone; ask what just came on instead.

It’s a hidden pub. That’s the point.

Hops sits a step off Hauptplatz, tucked behind a passage arch — a proper Graz Durchhaus. No big sign, no queue of tourists. Here’s the way in:

  1. Come off Hauptplatz into Prokopigasse — one street, easy to miss, that’s fine.
  2. Find No. 14. Look for the passage arch in the row of façades.
  3. Walk the Durchhaus — through the archway and into the courtyard.
  4. Follow the amber light down into the brick. If you can hear a quiz, you’re on time.

Tipp: if the courtyard looks like someone’s flat, you’re in the right Durchhaus — keep going.
